FX6 Footage in FCPX 10.4

Just acquired new Sony FX6 camera which films XAVC I..I just can't import the footage from its FCExpress cards.
When I go into Import Media..it sees the cards but they are shown empty..I know it ha the videos...because when I goto Sony Catalyst Browser..I can send the videos to a hard drive..which then can be imported in to FCPX..where am I going wrong..I already have Pro Video2 in my system!

Make sure you have the latest Apple Pro Formats installed:

I have an FX6, and XAVC-I imports just fine from class 10 SD cards to my iMac Pro running Big Sur 11.5.2, FCP 10.5.4 and Pro Video Formats 2.2.1.  I think it also imported OK under Catalina. I have some CFExpress Type A cards and a reader but I haven't tried those yet.

I've had problem in the past with some FX9 test footage because of in-camera stabilization. Something about the metadata for the stabilization. This had been fixed, but maybe it's back and could be the issue here. Running through the Sony software should correct the issues. However, personally I never import from cards nor use the card's folder structure with Sony and Panasonic cameras for any NLE. I always copy just the folder with the actual video clips to a hard drive and work that way. Solves all sorts of potential gotchas.

I have an FX6. I'm with Oliver. I never import directly from the cards/reader and only import the folder with the clips in it. I always copy the footage to multiple drives first. Use software to verify the contents are the same. Put one drive in storage. Then import to FCP using the leave files in place option. Haven't had any issues with the XACV I files since I started working with them in Feb.

I'm with Oliver and bjrE. ShotputPro to copy cards to drives, then to LTO. With leave in place selected, I don't import but instead drag the footage folder into FCP so it doesn't create re-wrapped files and bloat the library. macOS 11.6.2, FCP 10.5.4
