Export template from FCP10.4 to FCP10.5.3

Is it possible to export a template, created in an older version of Motion and saved into FCP10.4 to a later version of FCP (10.5.3)?
The software is on two different Macs.

Older project files can be opened (usually) by newer versions of the apps. Yes, you should be able to open that file with the newer app version. BUT, if you need to make changes to that template, do it in the older version of Motion, then copy to the newer version of FCP. You can go old to new, but not new to old backwards.

There are some templates, if they're old enough, will need to be updated in Motion itself.  But copy it over and see what happens.

Motion-wizzard Fox Mahoney offers a 'downgrade' service, to make newer Motion templates useful in older versions of FCP.

afaik, this tool handles only Motion-made plugins, not made with fxPlugin aka 'commercial made' ones…
