Project Settings for broadcast standards question... 24 Jun 2021 02:13 #115136

Hi FCP Folks,

I'm submitting work to a broadcast network and I have my Compressor settings configured. But my question is related to first starting a project in FCPX. Does it matter, or how much does it matter what project settings you start off with?

If I'm rendering in MXF (OP-1A) XDCAM HD 4221280 X 72050.0 MBPS8 channels of audio 59.94 Drop Frame TC with a 1 hour start.... do I need to match that when I create the project?

Thanks

Yes, conform your Project to your output as much as possible. Turn on safe zone overlays and never, never turn them off for broadcast. Always verify luma levels with the waveform scope. Never let audio levels peak very much over -6db The number of so-called professionals who don't do this, and my station rejects their submissions, astounds me.
