Reference for using Applescript to control FCP?

I'm going to have to combine 60 or more 3 minute long clips into one video. They will be added based on their creation time/file name.
I'd rather not have to drag 60 or more clips to the timeline multiple times so I thought that AppleScript would be great but the application dictionary for FCP doesn't look that great
Is there a tutorial anywhere that talks about how to control FCP with Applescript or is there some way to automatically construct a time line with all the clips ordered by creation time?
Thanks!

Set the Browser to list View. Click in the column headers for creation date so the clips are ordered by date and time. Select them and press E.
