Neat Video now supports M1 Apple Silicon

M1 Silicon support has come to Neat Video in Final Cut Pro - there's a project converter as well.

Neat Video for Final Cut. Re-builtThe switch of Apple to M1 processors and changes in Final Cut for M1 machines have placed new requirements on the development of plug-ins for FCP. That has pushed our team to create a whole new Neat Video plug-in for Final Cut. This new plug-in is significantly different internally from the previously developed version of the denoiser and we have called it the Second Revision (or SR).

Neat Video SR plug-in for Final Cut has become the first version of your denoiser natively supporting Final Cut on M1 computers. This means 30–40% speed improvement on Apple Silicon Macs compared to work via Rosetta.

The SR plug-in is a universal binary so it works on Intel-based Macs too.


Two effects

The earlier developed Standard Version plug-in and the new Second Revision plug-in appear in Final Cut as two separate video effects: Reduce Noise v5 and Reduce Noise v5 (SR). These two independent effects do not automatically replace each other.

We encourage you to switch to using Reduce Noise v5 (SR) in newer projects (and possibly in existing ones too) because the SR plug-in will likely remain the only one compatible with the future versions of Final Cut. To help you with the transition in existing projects we have developed a project converter.
