FCP with library on Windows NAS?

FCP with library on Windows NAS? was created by Frog4096
I am trying to get Final Cut to work with a library stored on my 10TB NAS, since keeping anything but the project I am working on at the moment on my MacBook would quickly fill it up. However, said NAS is
running Windows 10, sharing the drive array via SMB. Does anyone know if
I can make Final Cut work with this setup, or will I need to run some
kind of Linux VM to handle that task? Switching the server over to Linux
is not an option, it is extremely buggy and unreliable under Linux. I have a workaround that I am using right now, which is to create a .dmg file with Disk Utility, save said dmg onto the NAS, and put the library in there, but it's fiddly and kinda annoying. Any help would be much appreciated.
