Video from Apple Photos not appearing in the FCPX Photos library

This was all working fine a month ago before I updated to FCPX 10.5.1....

I have been taking videos on my iphone. These are getting uploaded into my iCloud and appear in the Photos app on my iMac. All good so far. But when I go into FCPX and try to see the files (in the section where there is Photos, Garageband, Music options), these new videos since the update aren't appearing. The old ones are there fine.

Import the videos from the phone into FCP. They can’t be stored in the cloud.

The thing is, I was previously able to do this. It was a little convoluted, as I had to 'play' the video in Photos before it appeared in FCPX as a selection option, but no big deal. Right now, there are two videos that have somehow found their way across, but as for the others, even if I play them they are not transferring across to FCPX as videos for selection.  See attachment or  image here . 

I think you’te using iCloud Photo Library. That’s not suitable for video applications. You have no control over what media is on the cloud and what’s stored locally. For video application the media has to be stored locally. Connect the phone and import from the phone into FCP.
