Audio basically broken since 10.5.2 update? was created by Struggling_Editor
I just started having this issue after updating to 10.5.2 - Before i go deleting preferences and whining to Apple I just wanted to know if anyone else is seeing this:
Since the update, I can only play 3 or 4 clips on the timeline and the audio drops out. I have to stop, and replay starting at the 3rd or 4th clip, and then audio plays fine for another 3-4 clips and it happens again.
i am also getting loud pops between clips - these pops show on the audio-meters, but (sometimes) when I replay the same section the pops between the clips are gone.
and finally, when this is all happening, on the audio meters when the aforementioned pops go into the red, instead of seeing the "1" or "2" at the top in the red-portion of the meter, I see tiny little "572" or "435" (random) other values.. then after a a few seconds, they revert back to the normal "1" or 2 or however many DB over 0 the clip hit..
Anyone?

Update.. Deleting preferences did not help.
After more experimentation it seems that this issue only occurs when the Noise Gate is added to the clips. When disabled, everything seems fine but when re-enabled, the issue returns..
So the question now is, can anyone reproduce this/is anyone else having this issue with Noise Gate?

Just applied NoiseGate to a bunch of clips and all works normally. Might it be that your problem is the Noise Gate in combination with other filters? Do you have other filters applied as well?

Initially also had the FCP Compressor filter applied, but the problem seems to occur with it on or off.. I've used both compressor and Noise Gate in 100 other videos without issue..
The only thing that has changed was 1) the new FCP update 2) I installed Crumple Pop AudioDenoise - but I never added it to anything in this project - is it possible a new filter can cause problems when it's not applied (my guess is no?)

No idea? Uninstall to find out I guess.
For Noise Gate not working by itself again not sure if there is a bug in the new version of FCP. If this is a project created with a previous version of FCP maybe create a new project and copy-paste the clips from the old to the new to see if that makes a difference.
