I still use my El Cap workstation for a LOT of video and audio work (because it still works very well!). But I've been having to convert HEVC files on my newer machine (Compressor) and share them over.

Is there any way to get these files to open in older versions of FCPX or Compressor ?

tx!

No. Mojave was the first OS that supported HEVC.

I remember installing the MPG2 codec long ago (Quicktime 7 Pro!) and was wondering if this was similar… just drop a thingy in the right folder.

Bummer. Ugh… lol.
