If I put a 4k clip in a 1080 multicam clip or a 1080 timeline, will I lose the ability to transform with minimal quality loss in 4k or does it make everything in the multicam and timeline 1080 and I lose quality?
Thanks guys

Hi Max, welcome to the forums.
Final cut Pro is resolution independent. You will not see any quality loss when you reframe a 4K clip (up to 200%) on a 1080P timeline.
You will find some more information in this thread: www.fcp.co/forum/4-final-cut-pro-x-fcpx/...age-in-1080p-project

For clarity let's mention that people are writing "4K " in this thread but the "pixel to pixel" and 200% zoom etc means "UHD ", that's what they have in mind.
(UHD is exactly twice HD) 1920/1080 * 2 = 3840/2160
