After up updating my FCP X Pro to 10.5.1 I received  a "Missing Plugin" warning within minutes of importing a new mp4 file. It played for a couple of minutes when I received the warning. All my previous videos are working fine. I reconnected to the file without success. I also repeated the importation but again within a few minutes the warning reappeared. Anyone know whats going on and how to fix it? Thanks.

You probably have a plugin (effect, generator, title, etc) that needs to be updated, or is no longer supported. You're going to just have to dig.

I am having this same issue. I just updated to Mac OS Monterey and now I get the 'Missing Plugin' on my imports.

What Ben said. If it’s happening during import it’s likely the media needs a playback plugin that has to be updated.
