Broadcast Out (and hopefully in) really is coming soon

In case you haven't seen this, the Thunderbolt version of the AJA IO started shipping today. So take a look at the graphic on the product page:



Notice they are featuring FCP X on the MacBook Pro screen. A nice encouragement that Broadcast Monitoring and hopefully capture, is indeed coming soon.

(Hopefully FCP X monitoring will support my Matrox MX02 also!.)

I actually just posted in the Matrox forums asking if they will be supporting FCPX when the feature comes. Right now my MX02 is just used to compress since I have one with max. I miss monitoring.

Until the release is out, vendors are not allowed to comment. I work with AJA and Flanders Scientific a good bit, and neither is allowed to comment on what will happen with the next upgrade. I take that as a good sign, since they're not saying flat out "No, will never happen".

I got to see the prototype of the Io XT at NAB last year, and it was impressive as all get out. Here's how it was explained to me at that time. "It's basically the Io Express with a Kona card put in it, and T'bolt connections." It's a pretty awesome box.
