Hi
1.Can I save a compound clip externally to use in the future on another Mac?
2. Is it possible to save an effect in the installed effects to use on another Mac?

Make a new library. Put the compound in a project and copy the project to the new library. If you need the media to go with it, consolidate the new library so the clips are stored in it.
Add a clip to the project in your transfer library and apply the effects to it.

Answer to 2 is to copy paste between the Motion Templates folders on the two Macs. Unless it is a coded add-on and needs an installer, then you'd have to run the installer on the second Mac.
