How to add jpeg image to video with continuous audio

Hey y'all! I'm a beginner here. I just want to add an image to pop up for 2 seconds to emphasize what I am saying in the video. How do I get it to show image on entire screen while my voice is talking? everytime i try to insert it the audio goes out and if i put it above the timeline, the image is across my face. And then when I "transform" the image to take up the whole space it gets distorted. Ty for any tips!! 

If you look in your Generators under "Solids" you can insert a color ((I use the Custom one set to black) between the JPEG and the video of you. So put the solid color on top of the video, and then the JPEG on top of that.
