Atomos Ninja Inferno - Very quiet audio? was created by Question3
Hello all,
Anyone using an Atomos Ninja Inferno with the breakout XLR cable? I got one to capture straight to ProRes, but the audio settings aren’t that flexible…. Or it could be a problem with the recorder…. Or it’s me?
I'm using the XLR breakout cable, input only, on my Ninja Inferno. It seems like I can't get enough gain. I've connected different microphones directly but they are very quiet.
Phantom power works fine. Meters show signal but low. It's only when I speak really close to the microphones that the levels show up to about -20db.
I've also tried connecting my wireless lav setup, set to Line Level and it's still giving me a low signal. I've tried turning the gain up and it's still very quiet. Nothing is distorted, just quiet.
I've cycled through all the Audio In options. It sounds like there's a "pad" that's switched on.
Any suggestions?
