Synchronising clips in (to) the timeline was created by Hossbie
Hello folks and happy new year!
I don't know how to do this the right way... I have an audio clip in the timeline, then have to add some musicians video, playing the music, but not from the beginning, for example, one of them plays a cymbal a couple of times in the middle of the tune, and he has to show up there, not before. The cymbals clip has already been sincronized with the audio clip that is now in the timeline but the point is that I don't know what I have to do to place the cymbal clip in the right timeline spot that it should be placed on. Of course, I can do it manually but there are like 20 musicians and this is going to happen a lot and one don't want to place everybody manually... Thank you for your always beloved help!

Well, if you recorded audio on each clip, give each an angle number and camera name and use the multicam tool.

Thank you Ben, but they all have to show at the same time in the screen and also move all around all the time and I guess that is not an option right? since all the band have to be seen in the screen, is not about chosing one shot. Thank you

Place multiple multicams on top of each other. You don't have to cut them, you just use them to keep in sync. Resize, move positions, etc. Would make keeping everything in sync a lot easier.

For more details on what Ben suggested, see below MacBreak Studio #285, "Multi-screen multicam in Final Cut Pro X":
If you have any difficulty creating or syncing the multicam, see this tutorial "How to easy set up a multicam edit", also the two referenced videos at the end of it:
