ATEM with FCPX was created by Marc Lucas
I'm looking to buy an ATEM pro to record Zoom calls/interviews a couple of questions regards to the recordings. I know that if you get the Pro you can export an XML which is generated from the internal software to import into Resolve which creates two 'tracks'.
If the XML is imported into FCPX how do the individual files come into FCPX?

Does it create a synced clip of the two sources i.e two separate video files (if I was just interviewing one person? Or does it come in as a multicam clip?

The ATEM Mini Pro ISO (only that model) can record all 5 "iso"lated streams (4 cameras and the final live mix). Other models record your live switched program only.

The ATEM Mini Pro ISO creates a .drp DeVinci Resolve project that contains a mulit-cam edit with all of the original camera angles intact. Again, the ATEAM ISO creates a .drp file, not a .XML file.

This Resolve project file will have as many tracks (angles) as needed depending on how many cameras you're filming with at that time (1-4, each camera being its own separate video file), plus an audio file for each audio input (2, each input creates its own audio file), plus the recording of your live mix.

The Resolve multicam project will have a minimum of 3 tracks, due to how Resolve handles transitions, keyers, etc.

But you can take that into Resolve, and export it for FCP, then open that into FCP.

I highly recommend Ripple Training's course for the ATEM, best around.  Lesson 12 explains exactly what you're asking about.

Great suggestion, especially as Resolve can be installed for free.
