Title re-rendering
I have updated to Fcp 10.5 and I have a big project of about 2 hours that I have been working on from previous versions.
The thing is that now, every time I trim a clip, all the subsequent clips that have titles in them ask to be rendered again. Even with background rendering turned off, it makes the wheel roll for a little time.
I don't see a reason it would ask for a new render.
I already deleted the preference while starting fcp, I even copied the whole project and pasted it in a new library in order to have new render files. I also tried creating proxies for all of them and nothing helped.
I wonder if anybody has an idea on the subject, knowing that I hadn't updated to 10.4 and was still on 10.3, so I don't know if my macbook pro 2015 is having difficulty with the new fcp which is making it slower or act weirdly.
P.S: I barely have any effects and the titles are in arabic but on basic titles with helvetica font
Thank you

In general only the timeline ranges affected by an edit should require re-rendering. On older versions I vaguely remember some situation where the "re-render from edit point to end of timeline" happened. But I haven't seen that recently.
Make a snapshot of the project, open the snapshot, select all clips with CMD+A, then delete all Fx with Edit>Remove Effects. Render the timeline with SHIFT+CTRL+R. Then make your edit and see if it still invalidates all render files from edit point to end of timeline. This is to investigate if some Fx or combination of Fx and title are causing it.
If it doesn't happen, repeat the above process but selectively remove Fx until you determine which ones are involved.
If it does happen, remove all titles (on the snapshot project) and add "Basic Title" to some clips and see if it happens then. This is to determine if some characteristic of your titles is causing it.
If it happens with no Fx on timeline and with only Basic Titles, please post a screen capture of your timeline.

I tried everything you recommended but it didn't seem to work.
I noticed though that one of my titles had a fade out attached to the end of it and thus was a storyline in itself. This one didn't ask me to render it again if I edited before even though it has the exact same font and attributes. I therefore just turned all my other titles into storylines using Command+G and now they are all stable.
Thanks again joema and hope this workaround helps anybody who might face this issue

Well, that's very interesting. I could not reproduce the problem of "re-render required from edit point to end of timeline" using either clips with titles in the primary storyline or those as connected clips. Yet the behavior must exist in some form or you wouldn't see it.
Thanks for posting the workaround of putting those clips with titles in a secondary storyline.
