I have had a hard drive crash, and I got it fixed. However, I have multiple corrupted files (with black/empty frames in a clip). I have manually removed these frames, but I didn't do anything with the files.

Still after I removed the frames, I get the 10008 error. What can I do to avoid this error? Do I need to remove the entire corrupted files? Is it not enough to just remove the frames that is corrupted?

FCP has to read the full video file to be able to read any of it. What do you mean by "fixed"?

No clue what a 10008 error means...

A corrupt file is a corrupt file.

The hard drive crashed (read and write head stopped working), and that caused the faulty head to scratch the plate, and damage some files. The head was replaced, but some files got partially corrupted. The are readable, but with black frames. I have removed the black frames, but it still wont let me share the project.

This likely has nothing to do with FCP. You are visualizing the video file as a sequence of stored frames, with the idea that removing some damaged or black frames will fix it.

However the files are likely H.264, also called "Long GOP" or Group Of Pictures. To achieve the required compression, each frame is not stored. Just certain reference frames are stored, and some difference data which normally allows reconstruction of the missing or pseudo-frames. That reconstruction cannot reliably happen if the files are damaged. NLE software will not properly function in that situation, just like an automobile will not run properly on contaminated gasoline.

Imagine you had a plain .txt file which was damaged. You could cut out the damaged portions and salvage part of the file. Now imagine that .txt file was compressed in a ZIP file and the ZIP file was damaged. That cannot be easily repaired. A damaged H.264 file is like that.

There are specialized utilities which in some cases can repair or recover portions of certain damaged video files. I haven't used these in years, but here is one:  www.stellarinfo.com/disk-recovery/video-repair.php

After going through my clips, I removed all black frames. I switched to optimized/original, but still got error while sharing. I switched to proxy and went through them again, and couldn't find any black frames. That's when I noticed that the black frames wasn't there in proxy. I switched to optimized/original, and found a lot of black frames. I removed these and tried sharing again. This time, 100% successful sharing.

Thanks for your input!

Not sure what I feel about your comment.

I do to have backup. This crash happened during backup. As of now I always upload images from camera twice. First to main hard drive, next to backup. Not from camera to main hard drive and then from main hard drive to backup.
