Hi, just doing a multiscreen music video and would like to make some ken burns effect on an already cropped and cutted video, without loosing the new size it has. Is that possible? to zoom a video in an specific size without losing its frame? Thank you!

Sounds like you might want to look at Compounding your clip(s) and then apply the Ken Burns to the Compounded Clip. This way the transform settings applied to the cli(s) inside the Compound are maintained.

Ok, I have four videos (recorded in vertical with a phone). So I put them in a row so I have the four vertical videos in a row. Then I get the first one on the left, with transform settings applied, then I make a compound clip of that first video, then I apply a ken burns effect to the resulting compound clip... the result is that clip taking all the screen space, not mantaining itself to the cropped settings applied before. That's the problem, the video does not keep in the cropped margin it should and takes the whole video screen size... Hope you can understand better now, sorry my english. Cheers and thank you in advance

Sorry I was just in general thinking about maintaining settings through Compounds, not specifically for 9-16 vertical iPhone clips. I do not have any iPhone clips right now to test but have you created a vertical project for your iPhone clips or are you editing them in a 16-9 project? If it is a 16-9 project I would change that to vertical 9-16 and try again (before creating the compound).

Edit: I just had the chance to test the theory and it behaves exactly as expected in a 9-16 (vertical iPhone) project.
Last edit: 17 Dec 2020 04:24 by Carsten Orlt. Reason: tested the theory

Thank you so much! Now in 10.5.1 you can do vertical ken burns if you set the project to vertical. Thank you!
