Clips not streaming in viewer! was created by dustindmccoy
My clips are not streaming in the viewer when I skim over them. Only the media I've already added to the timeline.Assuming this is really simple toggle switch I need to select? Thanks for your help!

Press the View menu and verify if skimming and clip skimming are enabled. The shortcuts to toggle these on/off are S and OPT+CMD+S.
Also consider enabling "Browser Info" which makes it easier to identify skimmer location in the browser. That is View>Browser>Skimmer Info (CTRL+Y toggles on/off).

Apart from Joema's suggestion you might be looking at a bug in FCP 10.5 and Big Sur 11 (at least that's where I encountered it). The viewer would not switch from timeline clips to any clips in the browser automatically. Update to FCP 10.5.1 and Big Sur 11.1 and it should be gone. At least I haven't had the problem yet with those versions.
