cross dissolves

cross dissolves was created by andi
After Catalina update I lost cross dissolves transition effect. (Using an old 2012 iMac)
Command T not working.
Also my current project now shows the dreaded "red box" where all my cross dissolves used to be.
Previous thread about this (March 2020) was solved with the help of FCPX.guru and dgwvideo, but I've followed their suggestions and nothing is working for me.
Anybody know the fix?
Thank You So Much For Any Help!
