Macbook Pro EXTREMELY SLOW while using FCP and an external display was created by MNSTRS

Hi there! hope all is well

I'm losing my mind since I've always worked with FCP while using an external monitor and all of a sudden the Mac crashes and lags since I updated to the last FCP version. It's hard for me to think that a $2500 mac with 16 mb of ram cant handle an Apple software while using a HD monitor (not even 4k)

Can somebody help mw with this?

Some specs:

Macbook Promo Late 2016 with touch bar
16 RAM
256 SSD
External 500 GB SSD
Samsung HD monitor (not 4k)
