Choppy 24FPS timeline

Hello, I’m new to the forum and have a question that maybe something very simple! When I import 24fps clips into my library they play perfectly smoothly in the preview in my media window but when moved down to the timeline there is a slight choppiness? Even after rendering and exporting!? The files are H265 4K 24fps files from an XT4. I’ve checked to make sure sequence settings are set to 24fps which they are. But why do the previews play perfectly but not in time line? It still plays fine in timeline and scrubs perfectly, but it’s almost like it’s in a 30fps project??? Any help would be great fully received!
