Is there a program/plugin that creates images trigggered by musical notes?

Sorry. I'm not even a novice at this video editing stuff. Is there a program or plugin that creates images like the old bouncing ball, that follows music? Let's say a fast moving melody. A dot or line jumps to the music, triggered by a solo or something? I'm sure there is. It'd be really hard to do that manually.

Not really, that's going to be a manually keyframed thing. You may be able to create an animated ball that goes up and down with the music in Motion with the Audio behavior. But you'll have to manually keyframe it to move left and right to each word.
