need to output a 2 channel stereo XDCAM HD 422 50 MBPS for broadcast

Hi, still do not have a working solution for this. I stereo panned 2 audio tracks (clips) in the timeline, have set roles to 2 channels, created a 2 channel discrete stereo compressor setting, and still get an 8 channel mxf output when it is checked in for broadcast. Have messed around with various settings and gotten everything from 8 channels with audio on 1, to 8 channels with audio on 4. Can anyone give me a check list? Thanks!

Was told by engineers at the broadcast center that all mxf are 8 channels but they only use 3 channels: 1 and 2 for stereo and a third for some kind of reference which wasn't explained. My initial problem of getting 8 channels with only 1 having audio (mono) was solved by creating a custom compressor destination with a config of 2 discrete audio channels.

I work in broadcast, I deal with that for other stations, and yeah, pretty easy to deal with once you understand MXF wrappers and the goal. MXF wrappers by default have 8 channels that you have to map out. Royal PITA.
