Audio react effect/plugin

Hi!

I wonder if theres anyway I can achieve this effect with the dots/bubbles/particles moving to the beat like that video, in FCPX/Motion? I understand this was made in Adobe After Effects with the Particles CC plugin. But I only use FCPX/Motion so I was hoping to be able to create something similar.

OK, the particles are easy to do in Motion, and they do not move to the music at all. The only animation in sync with the music is that the layer the particles sit in, moves upward a notch with some of the beats. Pretty easy to keyframe. This is not a complicated thing to do, and you'd not need any extra plugins. Ripple Training has a great tutorial on using particle emitters and (as I think used in this case) replicators.

The particles are clearly moving to the beat. But even if they didnt, 100BPM is a whole lot of keyframing in 7min. I want to do sets with music up to 1,5h each so manually keyframing is not super temptating for me atleast. I dont mind paying if i can get better looking effects just show me where if you can send a link or something? I have scanned youtube for 2 days now looking for something similar but i can only find bars or waves moving to the beat.

The shift upward is the only movent to the beat. The floating around is not to the beat, although it can appear that way. I've analyzed that clip very carefully, and not, the floating behavior is random, not specific to the beat. There is a phenomenon in which random movememts can often appear to be with the beat but actually aren't.

Yes thats true, its the shift upward thing i want to achieve. But i dont want to do it manually. Watching a long music/video clip where stuff move off the beat is not harmonic in anyway. But then it seems possible in motion then!? Id be so thankful if you or anyone can adress a guide or tutorial that i can follow so i can learn.

Maybe using a link behavior with the Audio effect, I'd have to experiment if I ever get time.
