Multi-cam clip audio synchronisation work-around

I've just got Final Cut Pro X on my MacBook Air 2019. I'm putting together a virtual music group with me playing five different parts which all come together and sound awesome (I hope). I recorded the music and mixed it and exported it from Garageband and have that in stereo as a .wav file in my event in FCPX. Next I filmed myself outside in the sun playing the 5 parts separately along to my audio file but made sure that the audio file was audible in the video audio so that they could syncronise in FCPX. Unfortunately when I try to synchronise the audio and the video clips either by just "synchronise clips" or "new multicam clip" the synchronisation does not work at all and all the videos and audio are completely out of time. To get around this I added markers to my clips in the library and synchronised via that This created a multicam clip. For my purposes that has synchronised it as well as I need.
I want to have all five videos showing at once with my 'good audio', do I need to make my synchronised video into a multicam clip to do this and if so how do I do that?
Apologies for my low level of understanding of such incredibly powerful software!
Any ideas would be warmly welcomed!

hi, yes multicast ist theway to go ,, what i would do do is create a Multicam (or you have already ) with the five takes and the audio
to make a Multicam:write 1 to 5 in the column Camera Angle in the browser to the "take files "
and "6 -aud" to the audio file ( 6th angle<< is the audio

if automatic sync does not work , when make Multicam ,, then you can make a marker on the brginning of each take and the audio file

select all5 takes and the audio and select "make Multicam"
you can the select the way fcpx tries to synchronize

you should get a multi, file with 6 layers. 5 takes and one Audio
here you can readjust sync with the place tool P

If you already have the 5 takes a angles you can add a camera angle and put the audio in as 6
then you can place the Multicam in a timeline ( project ,;) and select angle 6 as Audio (inspector )
and then go bac to the beginning and cut only video

if you have that,, and you want to see all of the angles in the timeline like in th viewer you willl have to make each angle smaller in the inspector and extend to the whole length , but we can get to that if you have it all lined up if you want

hope it's clear enough and helps!
feel free to ask if not ;)

Yes, always assign Camera Names and Camera Angles in the Isnpector for clips before making a multicam.

Do you mean to show all 5 while editing, or all 5 on the screen at one time? Multicam for the editing from one angle to another. But if you want all 5 on the screen at once, you'll have to manually stack them up in the Timeline, resize and reposition them as needed.

Mutlicam workflow info is here.

Hi folks, thank you do very much for your kind replies, I really appreciate them!
I'll work through with them and see what I can do.
The only issue that I still have is even when I put markers on the clip.and create a multicam clip, the synchronisation is still completely off.
I managed to do a very simplistic edit without the multicam editor yesterday and for my first attempt with FCPX that was sufficient bit on my next, I'll give it a go!
Cheers!
