Good day,

We're doing a homemade movie with the kids and there is a pencil which acts as a spindle and the camera is moving so the pencil doesn't stay at the same place during the short second clip.

I was wondering if there was any way in final cut pro to add a sparkling effect, meaning that it is a sharp object and that sparkle can stay on the pencil when the camera movies?

Thanks so much for the help.

Either manually keyframe the sparkle, or use TrackX (CoreMelt) to track it.

Quick question - why does FCP doesn't contain such plugins by default?

Because it's not a motion graphics app. You'd use Motion to do that without third-party plugins.

That sparkle worked perfectly! I also added some glitters to the magic wand!

I was wondering if there was any best practice to add some edits like this. I'm not sure if I saw that somewhere or decided to do this and if its right, I copied the clip put it above the original and added the sparkle and glitters on top of that copied clip. That following glitter was hard. I had to cut the clip multiple times because it was unable to follow the magic wand the way it was moving so I have like 5 clips now and the issue is that I would like to add an effect mlut on top of it but now it means that I have to add the effect to the 5 clips?

Was this ok to copy the original clip and edit the copied clip which is now on top of the original or that is not required at all?

Thanks so much
