Multicam Clip Sync not correct

Hello All,

I cannot figure this out! Trying to do a small music video shoot. I use 2 GoPro Hero 5 session cams and playback for the music in a floor monitor so the go pros record that audio which has the click count-in. NO problem at all with the audio in the GoPro clips. I can hear and see the click waveforms in the multicam clip i made. ALL clips are 23.98p. My project is 23.98p. But for some reason the audio from the vid clips can't be perfectly lined up to the clicks. They are INBETWEEN video frames. And I can't nudge the very edge of the first click count-in to line up to the beginning of a frame. I need ALL the clicks to line up (hence all the lip syncing video will match). It seems like some clips were sluggish, so I zoomed into the waveforms and sure enough the clips were NOT all lined up. I used the standard automatic settings in the multicam clip dialog box when making it. If I cannot adjust my clips to be in perfect sync, what's the point of having the multicam clip feature?? Also, i have sync off. See attached pic how they don't line up. Thanks!!

Go to the Multicam "Angle Editor" to line them up. And be sure all audio was recorded at the same Sample Rate of 48kHz.

If you hit "T" for the trim tool, you'll be able to move your audio according to its own sample rate, rather than video frames.

Thank you, but lining up the audio alone isnt what i need. I am using the clicks so all the video is lined up as well. If I use the trim tool, will it shift the video as well? I imagine it wont since I understand video can only move by frames, not subframes.

If you examine the light great bar next to the playhead, that is one video frame. The mis-sync is about 1 video frame, which is generally not audible.

However you can do sub-frame audio editing using this procedure, but it's probably not necessary to fix a 1 frame issue: www.fcp.co/final-cut-pro/tutorials/1191-...thin-final-cut-pro-x
