Motion 5 / FCPX Can you animate layers of a logo?

I am looking at logo animation templates... can you animate various parts of a logo say if you wanted to break it apart into segments from EPS AI or PDF files? Or is that only AE trick?

Not clear what you mean to break it apart? Can you post an example of what sort of effect you're trying to achieve?

I know exactly what your after here. You can import vector objects into Motion and animate them as you like. You do have to break apart the layers in Illustrator first. Here is a 5 minute Ripple tutorial that covers one way to do it.

The effect is like any that can make the logo do different things. ...

They charge for this on fiver its crazy... if its a simple job... I am in the wrong space..

Abotu 5.5.seconds the red logo. This was custom done by the editor... the second logo was done on fiver! - you can see the difference both are ok but the one that was more flexible looks more exciting/

Illusttrator you say not PS? I mean I have PS All these Adobe products are subscription I am NOT getting involved. Maybe there will be a naughty around perhaps... but surely PS is the standard to do that... I will watch this v helpful video now!!!!! Thank you

Pixelmator Pro is a very good alternative to Photoshop, and way cheaper.
And what that red circle graphic does at 5 seconds could very easily be done in Motion. Probably even in FCPX. That's a pretty simple trick to do. I don't see much of anything in that video that couldn't be done in Motion.

That could be done in Pixelmator or something basic. Sectioning up a graphic is pretty easy. Or in Motion, just make multiple copies, mask out what you don't want on each copy.
