Drop Shadow not working properly in FCPX, need help urgently

Hi all,
We are working on an FCPX project which has a lot of text. We have applied a glow and drop shadow to the text, and it was working fine till now. Now if we open some of the projects, though the drop shadow settings are the same its appearance is not. The drop shadow changes for some of the clips, and even if we reset the settings and apply them again, as soon as we close and open FCPX, the same problem occurs. We even tried to reset the settings and render the file. But the rendered file also has the same problem. Any suggestions????

Did you turn off Background Rendering and then delete all the render files?
