ist crashing if I copy part of the project or the complete project
I have a large project with many events. If want copy parts of the project or the the complete project, FCP X is crashing.
I have deleted the Final Cut preferences, I have deleted the optimized media files and the proxy files. I have created a new library to copy the project to the new one. But everytime I copy a part or the complete project FCP X is crashing. To be correct it is crashing if I "Paste" the content.
The library has a size of 7TB. It is stored on a QNAP NAS which is connected of thunderbolt 2 to my Mac Pro Late 2013 with Mojave. All the possible updates are made.
Does anyone have an idea what I can do to check the library where the problem is?

In the Browser, select the Library, go to the File menu, select Delete Generated Library Files, delete all render files.

What version of MacOS and what version of FCPX?
The proper procedure for copying a project (aka timeline) to another library is:
(1) Create an empty transfer event in the current library
(2) Copy (do not move) project to transfer event
(3) Drag/drop transfer event to new library
(4) Consolidate media in the new library

FCP X 10.4.8
FCPX.guri and joema, I have done these things a couple of time. The system is crashing if I use the "Paste" command. The wheel is spinning for a couple of seconds 5-10, than FCP X is closed. After another 20s I got the message that Final Cut Pro has crashed. I can open the Report and start FCP X again.
Do you have another suggestions what I can do?

Did you create a new destination library, then create an empty transfer event within your current library, then drag/drop the project icon while holding OPT key from the current event to the transfer event? Then did you drag/drop the transfer event containing only the new copy of the project to the new destination library?
When doing this on a local drive FCPX uses either symlinks or hard link optimization to reduce space consumption. You are on a NAS so I'm not sure of the behavior in that case.
As FCPX.guru said, please state how much free space exists (1) On your Mac system drive and (2) The NAS volume you are using.

On the NAS is more than 10TB free
I have done a XML export and imported it a new library. Some of the clips we had to do a relink and now it is stable. I hope it keeps as it is.
