Syncing Issue with mix of 24 and 23.98 frame rates was created by d-hobbs
Hi there,
Currently syncing a few nights worth of music gigs for a feature doc, multiple cameras each night with external sound.
Turns out two of the cameras (one Sony FS700 and one Sony A7sii, both shooting onto Atomos external recorders) were shooting 23.98 rather than true 24 each night so timecode sync isn't working with these clips and once I've manually synced the clips I'm getting drifting sync.
I've done a bit of research into fixing this issue across some forums but only really finding instances with syncing faster frame rate footage with slower footage (e.g 59.94 with 25) but I've not found anything to remedy the opposite. The main camera that shot on the nights as well as the rest of the doc (Arri Alexa Mini) shot 24 fps entirely and the plan is to make DCP of the film down the line so I'll need to get the former mentioned footage to match with the latter if possible.
Is there any workaround for this is FCPX? I've tried automatic speed on some clips but it doesn't seem to work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
