FXP X & Catalina

Hi,
last night I upgraded from Mojave to Catalina & now I'm asked to update FCP X from the Apple Store. I can't see anywhere how to update. Am I required to purchase FCP X again for use with Catalina ?

No. Make sure you’re logged in to the App Store with the Apple ID used to purchase the application. Check the Purchased page to see if it’s listed there.

I've noticed an issue with the App Store lately. Sometimes I have to go to the product page and get the update, as it won't show up in the Update section. But from the product page, it downloads just fine.

I called Apple Australia & explained that FCP X was included in the purchase of the new MBP & they let me download the latest version without any problems.

You can also try in the app store to force any updates that might not appear by going to the update tab, and then in the top menu under "store" choose "reload page".
