Spacebar won't play footage in timeline was created by rob.clifford

After a few minutes of editing I keep getting same problem. Spacebar stops working as does j,k and l buttons. Basically I can't preview anything in timeline. The only fix that works for me is to re-start the machine. Closing/Opening application doesn't work nor does deleting preferences. I am on 2015 iMAC with latest OS and running FCPX 10.4.8. Any help will be appreciated.
