Disabled Box popping up around Title Text

I am trying to put mask on a title but the box outline that pops up around the text when you click anywhere near the text on the screen keeps getting in my way. If inside that box it will not allow me to add new points to my mask. Is there a way to deactivate that? or lock the text parameter?
