I want to cut a few seconds in a few portions of an import from a digital camcorder (DCR-TRV350) without compromising the original quality of the import. I'm guessing it's not possible to do direct cuts like it was possible to do with some video types in QuickTime, and I'll have to re-export the clip, e.g. via Final Cut Pro. My question is how do I get an export in FCP that has no compression - it matches the quality of the original import (lossless) - minus the cut areas?

Edit: I was able to use QuickTime Player 7 Pro to do direct cuts. Meanwhile, in QuickTime Player 10 the editing options including Trim are disabled. Anyone know why?
