Stabilize clip partially

I have a clip that is a continuous shot. The clip is perfectly stable for the 1st half. Then towards the 2nd half does a couple bums and wobbles. I'd like to stabilize the 2nd half but not the 1st. Because the first half is just the perfect size keeping the subject in frame. I wouldn't want the stabilizer plug-in to chop part of the subject out of frame unnecessarily, for that 1st half of the clip.

Well, if it is a continuous shot, and one part gets cropped to remove shake, then you absolutely need the rest cropped to match. Otherwise, you get a jump-cut between the two very different framings.

But most stabilizers will not crop areas that don't need it, and transition between the two areas nicely. Then again, depends on how bad those bumps and shakes are.

I've noticed that, at least the built in FCPX stabilizer, still crops the beginning of the clip that doesn't need stabilization.

Also relating to this is there anyway or third party plug-in way to stabilize a compound clip?

How about blading the clip.. stabilize the second part and then applying the "flow" transition between the 2 clips? Would that work?
But then again, tweaking the amount of smoothing in the stabilization options still crops too much?

Try this.... apply stabilization. Then cut it in a few places.
Adjust the amount of stabilization applied much less in early cuts than later ones. It will be a gradual change and a blend transition between the cuts may even make it less noticeable.
