Where would I find a partly created shared file?

I have created my very first project with FCPX. I had no idea it would take up so much hard drive space so have got myself into a bit of a dilemma. When I select 'Share' to create a file I can view it starts processing which I can see within the Share Monitor. However, the project has taken up practically my whole hard drive at the moment and the processing fails due to lack of space (I have ordered an external hard drive now by the way!) Each time it has failed the hard drive has reduced in size even more so it must be leaving a partly created file somewhere but I can't find out where!
Does anyone have any idea where these part files may be lurking? If I can track them down I should have enough space to then finally create the file.

Files created from the SHARE menu should be located in your final cut projects folder in the SHARED ITEMS folder.

EDIT: The default location should be USER/MOVIES/FINAL CUT PROJECTS/SHARED ITEMS. You can always use spotlight to do a search if you know the name of the file that was being created.

Thanks for your quick reply! I found that after successfully creating one this time after deleting a few apps to create more space. But the hard drive space still seems to have been reduced by more than the file that was created which makes me think that there is something else being created somewhere :s

Probably your render files are still on disk. Select your project and then choose delete project render files. Then select your event and choose delete event render files. You will have a choice of deleting UNUSED render files or ALL render files for both project and event.
