Does anyone have a way recommended way to trim files and keep time & date, before adding them to events in FCPX?

(I have tons of "dead" footage to trim from small cameras like GoPros)

You can use the current Quicktime to trim the front and back of your clips and then re-save the trimmed clip. I'm pretty sure time and date from a GoPro will remain intact. I think Quicktime 7 (the old version) allows you to trim any section within the clip and splice the sections together.

Sadly, it will create new date & time with QT.

Did you try QT7? I think you can alter the creation date.

EditReady can modify metadata and change creation date , you can batch modify...
Miana can also modify dates but one by one if I remember.

Don't have QT7 :/
Would compressor be able to TRIM files and keep/adjust metadata?

Will check EditReady and Miana!
