Doing a rolling edit in secondary storyline and not getting two window feedback (start and end)

I have a clip with video and audio in the primary storyline. I have added two clips with Q (add connected clips). Now I want to do a rolling edit at the edit point between those clips with the Trim tool. If I do this in the primary storyline, I see two screens with the first frame of the right hand clip and the last frame of the left hand clip. But when I do the same rolling edit in the secondary storyline, there is no feedback. Is there some way to see the desired visual feedback?

Select both connected clips, do CMD+G to group them into a secondary storyline.
