I'm a very newB. How do I edit out large gaps between scenes or tracks?

Edit out "large gaps"? Not sure what you mean. And there are no Tracks, so not sure what's up with that either. Can you give a screen shot of what you want to delete.

Normally, you select something in the Timeline, then hit the delete key.

Thanks for the reply. I guess I mean space between takes, can I just select that blank area and delete it. Im going to dump all my tapes first to an 8TB external HD then go into to them and either blend them all together or in the empty (blank area) maybe add a bit of text describing next tracks
