Hi all.

Very long time lurker here :)

I’ve been using FCPX for a while but I’m about to embark upon a new project where two commentators will be vo-ing on a prerecorded edit. As it’s wrestling, it’s best to do this as one long cut, and preferably both guys with headsets on using the voiceover facility. Can I do this with two usb headsets, or am I going to have to use analogue headsets through an analogue mixer into the mic input?

FCPX is not a full fledged audio recording function, it only does VO for one voice source. You're going to have to mix externally before you come into your Mac.

I'd use LPX or GB to record each voice source to it's own track, then bring each voice into FCPX. Two people won't be talking at the same level with the same dynamics, so you're going to have to do some balancing in post. I'd never mix the two to gather on one track from the start, personally.

Good advice - much appreciated. I get LPX - but what's GB?
