Keyframing woes

So a little about the job. I am currently working on a instructional video VO and screen capture. Now I am doing it in PP don't switch off or click back. I know I can do this faster in FCP for the next one and my client has said I can choose.
To the issue, so I have the screen capture in glorious 4k on a 1080 timeline so I can zoom in and out to the areas of interest . PP no issues set keyframes all linear we zoom in and out to the areas of interest brilliant. FCP not so brilliant, I have zoomed in and out to the areas of interest to a few bits if interest without issue then boom without warning we are panning off into oblivion or so it feels. I have sussed out the linear keyframe as I want to push in view and zoom back out.
So my question is when the heck am I doing wrong? What I should do is learn motion and make a plugin to zoom to the area of interest then zoom out.
I cant screen grab as I am under a NDA if I get chance later I will try and make a short video with stock video.

You might also look into the crop tool. I use crop & trim all the time, and it's very easy and intuitive, also with keyframe animation (video timed to start with crop after trim):

:woohoo: Family friendly reply but thank you so much Axle, spot on what I needed. I knew it was simpler. Client will be at my home soon so I will demo the speed.

Well you could use Ken Burns and Blade Speed, or Ken Burns and change the duration of each "clip" or piece of action, as it is still frames, the number of frames determines speed...more frames faster, fewer=slower...or the other way round...I don't work much with still frames...maybe fewer frames=faster....someone will correct me...then I will edit out the mistake...here to learn!!!
Keyframing is automatically added after the 1st keyframe... Motion would not be a bad idea if this is going to be a long term thing...With motion you could move the camera into and out of the points of interest...A bit of a learning curve to get used to the way Motion works with cameras and 3D.

OK, back to the very beginning. If you're doing screen capture videos, you seriously should be using ScreenFlow which was made specifically for this. No resolution issues, easy to use, has tools specifically for this. Would save you tons of time and headaches. Just saying.

Totally understand your point, however I am freelance and al that happens is I am given the screen captures and asked to get on with it.
I did look back at an old Library from about 6 years ago to find I had used the cropping way for a video before. Weird how the mind forgets a few things. My old boss called it skill fade. Guess he was right about some things.
