Rendering and crashing

I put an anti-flicker plug in on a 4K clip and it has taken an hour to render 1%. I've tried rebooting, but FCPX just doesn't like the plug in on that clip.

The issue is that I cannot stop FCPX trying to render the clip. I want to highlight the clip and remove the plug in, but every time I highlight the clip, the beach ball cometh. Then I have to reboot FCPX.

Any ideas on how I can remove this bloody plug in from my clip?

Furthermore, my whole project is now being held hostage by one clip with a plug in on it... Is there any way to salvage the project, less that clip?

Thanks,
P x

With the application closed try removing the plugin from the effects folder or uninstalling. The clip should then appear as a missing effects icon, letting you delete it from the inspector.

You could open the application without any Libraries open, (or just select a different one) turn off automatic rendering in your preferences then open the library and try to select the clip to delete the plug-in.
