Audio pitch is low on imported media was created by andy.jay
Hi all.
New to Final Cut. I'm having trouble with imported media, specifically the audio. I am capturing the video using quicktime. I am using an external condenser microphone. Clip plays back fine in quicktime and in the imported media folder in Final Cut. However, when i import to timeline, the audio pitch is lower. It makes my voice deeper.
I suspect it has something to do with audio bitrate. I am capturing in 44100, which is what FCP appears to be set to. Somebody please help! I'm stuck at the very start of making my video.
Thanks!

Hi Andy, welcome to the forums.
1. You should capture your audio at 48KHz, that's the standard for video editing. But I don't think the audio sample rate is causing the pitch difference.
2. Make sure that the frame rate (fps) of your fcpx project matches the frame rate of your captured video. The easiest way to do this is to create a new project using "Automatic Settings", then just drop the QT video from the browser onto the timeline. You should not get any pitch shift anymore.
