Does Apple give a sh.. about Europe ? the second update and the field problem that came with 10.4. is NOT fixed ?
WTF ? don't they get that MXF 25i XDCAM HD is a broadcast standard here ? they are going to get kicked out of every TV station. not many left anyway. i don't get it. this is essential. FCPX is breaking the field structure . thats basics and easy to fix ! they just don't care or are lazy as hell , i can't believe this . how can they be so ignorant.

What field structure issue are you referring to? I currently deliver MXF XDCAM HD50 25i out of FCPX no problem. I live in South Africa but my company plays all content out from Amsterdam (QC and playout). I have not received a QC fail for field issues as of yet?

hi Darryn

What's your Source Material ?. the issue is with MXF on import, like working with your exported Material
If you work with other source & codecs Prores For example . you will be fine. the exported file should be OK
Try for yourself. re-import the exported file, Have "show both fields " in the viewer ON (and on Broadcast mon )
place playhead on a cut.

That's really an annoying problem. All my work exported from 10.4 are rejected by my local TV station. Now I have to stay on 10.3.4 and don't know when I can update to forthcoming version. I have sent e-mail about this problem to Apple and get no reply at all.

Does anyone have a workaround for this? My source material is XDCAM HD422 1080i50.
Pushing a deadline here :-(

Converting source material to ProRes mov files will work around the bug, but I'm not sure how easy it will be to relink already edited material.

Another solution is to revert to an old version of FCPX (before 10.4). If you have a Time Machine backup you should be able to grab it from there. You will probably have to transfer the projects using XML due to the changes in the FCP library format.

This is really a horrible and longstanding bug (coming up on 6 months). I'm staying on version 10.3.2 until they get the mxf handling sorted.

We are currently testing this issue. As a workaround, for now, you can convert the MXF clips in Compressor using the standard ProRes 422 preset and audio pass-through. I have tested this process, relinking in FCP X is flawless.

This is the original interlaced MXF with the interlacing issue:

This is the interlaced ProRes 422 version, relinked in FCP X. Same TC, no interlacing issue:
