hai,
I am facing some problems with xdcam hd422 video codec in Fcpx 10.4 , the footage is xdcam hd422 50i, when in play that footage in Fcpx timeline it will not play smoothly(flickering) , try they same footage in older version of Fcpx (10.3.4) footage play smoothly , I deleted preference and reinstalled Fcpx but problem still exist

hi if it is a mxf xdccm hd 422 interlaced file , there is a serious bug in 10.4 . which decodes mxf 5oi files wrong . fcpx shifts by one field , resulting one frame consisting of the 2nd field of the frame before and the first field of the curren frame . see also www.fcp.co/fcp-forum/4-final-cut-pro-x-f...-10-4?start=40#93505
test: import an Mxf 50i , best a master clip you edited with 10.3. or earlier, put it in a project ( automatic setting or manually the same as the clip ) . if you don't have a Broadcast monitor with Blackmagic , Aja or similar be shure to enable show both fields in the viewer settings ! then put the playhead exactly on a cut. you see two different fields . one from the outgoing and from the incoming . and if you look closely playing ( with show both field enabled you can also see that something is wrong .
