Hi all,

I´ve saw on youtube a super tip named "the Power of Tilde ~ Key". That´s great, but I did buy my computer in Germany and the keyboard is diferent ( no Tilde key). I know the shortcut to type ~ is Option + N. But I don´t want type ~ .... I want to use this FCPX shortcut key to do what the tip video shows. If a press Option + N , final cut create a new event.... please help.

I didn´t figured out how to use the tilde key an non US keyboard. But what you can do is..select the clip that you want to slip trim, and lift it from Storyline. You will realize that FCPX will replace the clip whit a gap at the main Storyline and now all clips that were connected to this clip, now are connected to the gap below. Select the trim tool and do what you need. When you´ve done, select the selection tool, select the clip and go back to the main Storyline using the command Overwrite to Primary Storyline. Done.

I think you are looking for the " override connections" command, just remap it to your convenience in the command editor.

hope this helps

auf einer Deutschen Tastatur ist das
⌘ + ^
